- Strong cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms to the area this weekend
- Some rain chances will continue into next week
Late season cold front will move across the area Saturday afternoon and evening with showers and thunderstorms. While showers will develop along the front Saturday afternoon, the majority of the showers and thunderstorms will come behind the front into Saturday night and end near the coast Sunday morning. Some brief heavy rainfall will be possible, but not expecting any severe weather or flooding concerns. A much cooler air mass will surge into the areas Saturday evening and remain in place into early next week as a coastal trough forms over the western Gulf and disturbances ride across the area from the southwest which will keep an unsettled pattern in place through mid week. Temperatures will cool into the 50’s for lows and highs in the 70’s from Sunday-Tuesday.
Rainfall amounts late Saturday into early Sunday will average .50-1.5 inches with higher isolated totals.
